Hello! Welcome back to coffee time at the Home for Full-Grown Nerds. The dinosaurs have prepared us a nice, warm cup of coffee this evening…and they’ve been making the place festive for Christmas! Things are getting nice and holiday-cozy…perfect for settling in for a chat. So, snuggle in and let us know what’s new with you! Anything fun or exciting in the works? Any plans or accomplishments you’re busting to share? Share, share!

Things here have been busy, busy, busy, but in a most pleasant way. 🙂 Thursday was spent in the typical Thanksgiving fashion…ridiculous amounts of food, lots of lounging, and some volunteer work. We have so, so much to be grateful for in our little nerd home, and I spent most of the day nearly overwhelmed with appreciation. ❤

Yesterday was deliciously indulgent with the actual “plan” for the day involving leftovers, pajamas, and six hours of Gilmore Girls fabulousness.

And today? Well, today’s been all about supervising dinosaurs (sometimes they need just a touch of assistance with the decorations), hiking with John, eating at an amazing new-to-us restaurant (Four kinds of salsa and queso??? Yassss!), and buying our Christmas tree. Yep, that fresh pine scent wasn’t just your imagination or something weird the dinosaurs did to your coffee. 😉

Here, have a peek at John scoping out all of the trees, looking for the very most perfect one for our living room:

We found a spectacular tree (and we both picked the same one!), annnnd we were able to help a local organization, Hometown Heroes. Win!

So, that’s what I’ve been up to…now for a bit about what I’ll be getting into over the next week:

Not much of anything. 🙂 I mean, there’s the usual stuff of day-to-day life and some helping out with the PTSO fundraiser and our town’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony and, maybe, a Christmas concert…but not too, too much chaos. 😉 (I am goofily excited about that tree lighting, by the way!)

And what about this blog? Well, this may be shocking, but I finally have an actual plan to do things here. (Wut?!?)

Starting on this very evening, I’ll be starting the holiday fun and organization series, Have an Awesome Christmas! Over the years, I’ve gotten pretty darn good at streamlining and organizing all of our Christmas festivities…not in a weird, militant, scary sort of way…in a “let’s focus on the joy and happiness of the holiday” kind of way. Anyhoo, I thought it might be nice to share some of my strategies and ideas and thoughts and things. So, yeah, that’ll be a thing. 🙂 (Worry not! I’ll still be doing Three Things Thursday and Weekend Coffee Share.)

I’ll also finally be using the Ms. Emily’s Home for Full-Grown Nerds Facebook page for something other than…well, nothing. 🙂 In addition to sharing Christmas shenanigans and plans, I’ll be posting some tips and plans for keeping your home clean and tidy and ready for festivities. Woot! If these sound like things of interest for you, you should totally go give the Facebook page a like or follow or whatever it is we’re doing on Facebook these days. 😀

Other than what I’ve babbled about so far, we’ve been spending most of our time around here playing Skyrim (Special Edition, of course…woot for mods!) and enjoying the fabulous Pokémon GO event (double XP and double stardust). 😀 How have you been spending your days? Any nifty games or books or shows or hobbies or people you’ve been enjoying? The dinosaurs and I want to hear all about it! 😀

I’m afraid I have to scoot for now, but I’m ever-so-glad that you’ve stopped by for a visit. 🙂 I’ll be back in a bit to share Step 1 in Having an Awesome Christmas!

Until we chat again, have a week that is full to the top with love and hugs and gigglesnorts and adventure and contentment and peace!

So many are leaving the complex for various my the New Year there will be another turnover as new residents move into the apartments. Have a pleasant week.

Those trees looks absolutely gorgeous! And looking forward to seeing yours decorated. Not sure when my stuff is going up as time is extremely limited with 2 papers and the qualifying exam coming up. I will be free as of December 16. So maybe then?

Looking forward to reading the rest of Have an Awesome Christmas series.

BTW I missed you last Saturday and then this Saturday as I was at the library I kept looking for your post and thought I had missed you. Glad you didn’t disappear. I enjoy reading your coffee share.

The tree lot really did have some marvelous trees this year! (Well, they always have nice trees, but this year’s seemed particularly lovely.)

I hope your papers and exam go well! I think I would certainly wait until all of that was out of the way before busting out the decorations.

I hated to miss the coffee share last week, but it was a very swirly weekend. I’ve also been spending a lot of time planning what I’m going to do on the blog instead of actually blogging. 😉 I think that should be all straightened out now…I hope. 😀

I’m so behind on blog reading that I’m just now about to read through your first five Have An Awesome Christmas posts! This time of year is nuts (in a good way!) but I’m looking forward to keeping up with the series! I love picking out a fresh Christmas tree. I’d never had a real tree prior to getting together with my partner, and now that I’d had one for 8 years I don’t think I’d go back!
