Welcome back to Three Things Thursday, a way to fill your blogs and social media with the happy!
Three Things Thursday is a simple concept that everyone is encouraged to play along with. All it requires is listing three (or more!) things that are making your life awesome. Please note! The three things you choose each week do not need to be big, huge, mighty, impressive things. In fact, I think it’s much better to focus on smaller, sillier things…because focusing on those little bits of joy and the gigglesnorts that they bring…well, that’s where day-to-day contentment lives, I believe.
So, how do you participate? Easy as falling off a log! Whip up a blog post about three things that are making you smile…then share it on the link up in this post. Don’t want to do a whole blog post? Feel free to post some pictures on Facebook or Instagram! If you tag me in your pictures, I 100% promise to give them appropriate love. ❤
Just one more thing! Three Things Thursday posts actually don’t need to be done on Thursdays! I leave the link up active for the whole week every week…so you can be grateful on your own schedule. 🙂
Okay, here we goooooo…
Ohmigosh, y’all, this morning has just been a hot mess around here. We had some pretty serious storms in the area last night (to the point that we actually ate dinner downstairs in John’s office…for safety), and while all is well here, there was a tornado very close to John’s office in Charlotte. Well, needless to say, the tornado, though small, wrecked up the power lines and things in that area…and wrecked up power lines mean crisis time for IT people. The power there finally came back on around 5:30 this morning, but the AC in the server room didn’t come back on. (For those of you who don’t do computer stuff, let me just tell you that this is bad, bad, bad, very bad.) Well, this led to John needing to go to work at 6:00 this morning, but guess what??? We’re a one car family, and we had no way to get Grace to school if John took the car. So, instead of doing my usual morning stuff (cleaning, packing lunches, doing laundry, sitting and enjoying my coffee), I had to fly into action mode and drive John to work…in Charlotte…an hour away. And then drive back…an hour. And then take Grace to school. And then come back home and tend to the cleaning/laundry/coffee agenda. Shew! And that is why this Three Things Thursday post is much later than usual. 🙂
But even in all of that, there is so much to be grateful for! John has a job that he likes (when there aren’t tornadoes about wrecking the place up). We may only have one car, but we have a car. My morning schedule got goofed up, but I’m pretty streamlined with that stuff, so I’m already back on track. (Of course, the going to pick John up and bringing him home portion of my day, along with the extra kitty volunteer hours this evening due to cat shelter chaos, will throw the later part of my day straight into swirly mode again…but that’s okay…I’m prepared…mostly.) 😉 And, most importantly, no people were harmed in the tornado!
Okay, that was entirely too much babbling…let’s move on to the pictures. 😀
The Christmas tree is decorated and making our living room smell like a pine forest. 😀
Grace makes amazing “from scratch” hot cocoa…and she always adds loads and loads of whipped cream. Yum!
Kittens! These little floofs aren’t residents of the cat shelter…they were just visiting. 🙂
And some bonus stuff!
I spotted this in the craft store, and I must admit that I identify with this so hard. 🙂 I don’t have any need for a pouch, so I just had a little giggle and left this on the shelf.
I finally caught a Ditto!!! Woot! 😀 (This made me kind of unreasonably happy.) 😉
And now, my blog friends old and new, it’s your turn! Click on that little graphic below to share your own three things that are bringing you joy (or leave your list in the comments). 🙂
And go ahead and grab a badge while you’re at it…because badges are awesome! 🙂
What’s putting a smile on your face this week? Share your gigglesnorts! 😀 I would love, love, love to hear all about the awesome bits of life that are making you feel warm and fuzzy.
