Three Things Thursday: December 15, 2016

christmas-breakWelcome back to Three Things Thursday, a way to fill your blogs and social media with the happy!

Three Things Thursday is a simple concept that everyone is encouraged to play along with. All it requires is listing three (or more!) things that are making your life awesome. Please note! The three things you choose each week do not need to be big, huge, mighty, impressive things. In fact, I think it’s much better to focus on smaller, sillier things…because focusing on those little bits of joy and the gigglesnorts that they bring…well, that’s where day-to-day contentment lives, I believe.

So, how do you participate? Easy as falling off a log! Whip up a blog post about three things that are making you smile…then share it on the link up in this post. Don’t want to do a whole blog post? Feel free to post some pictures on Facebook or Instagram! If you tag me in your pictures, I 100% promise to give them appropriate love. ❤

Just one more thing! Three Things Thursday posts actually don’t need to be done on Thursdays! I leave the link up active for the whole week every week…so you can be grateful on your own schedule. 🙂

Okay, here we goooooo…

This week has been another zany, crazy bunch of days, but there has been so, so much to be grateful for!

Grace is very fond of her Environmental Science teacher, so when she found out that her teacher wanted flamingo slippers for Christmas, Grace was on it! We don’t normally spend more than a few dollars on each teacher (budget!), but Grace was so determined to get her teacher flamingo slippers that she chipped in some leftover birthday money. 🙂 I’m so happy that Grace is so kindhearted…and that she gets so much joy from doing things for others. 😀

I also just love, love, love these slippers. I smile every time I look at them. 🙂

We enjoyed the chorus concert last weekend…even if it was at the mall. 😉 You can’t see Grace in this picture, but I promise you that she’s up there singing away.

And now for some fluff butts! These three kitties all snuggled up together definitely made me smile. 😀 (I’m sure these three will get adopted in no time…who can resist such cuteness???)

Now, my blog friends old and new, it’s your turn! Click on that little graphic below to share your own three things that are bringing you joy (or leave your list in the comments). 🙂

And go ahead and grab a badge while you’re at it…because badges are awesome! 🙂

What’s putting a smile on your face this week? Share your gigglesnorts! 😀 I would love, love, love to hear all about the awesome bits of life that are making you feel warm and fuzzy.

Love, love, and love! All the pics! Thanks to the internet and also Amazon Prime you can find almost anything and get it shipped to you in 2 days for free. I’m thinking of your flamingo slippers. I’m curious as to where you found them. And those fluff butts. I love how they are all squished into the same bed. However the middle one looks a little concerned with the squish. LOL! My kitties who are about 2.5 yrs old now rarely voluntarily sleep together. I have caught them twice though in the past month. With the frigid temps coming, I would imagine they would like this type of sleeping arrangement. But to each his own I guess.

    So my 3 things.

    1. I received the qualifying exam this morning and it doesn’t look nearly as bad as what I imagined. I will start putting pen to paper as soon as I finish this comment. We have until 9:00 AM tomorrow to complete and submit it.

    2. So thankful for my supportive cohort. We are on group messaging and everyone pretty much feels as anxious as I do about this exam. Then 4 of us met for a GoToMeeting on Tuesday to review a few things. Technology is awesome. We are from MD, MO, GA, and PA. So it’s an awesome way to connect and our university hosts these for us which costs nothing to us….except of course, I’m sure the tuition. Anyway it was quite helpful to meet and discuss and alleviate some of our stresses. We can do this! After all, we really do want to go for our mandatory study abroad trip in Ireland next summer. And this is a step in the process to get there. One of my classmates compared this to hazing to get into a sorority. I like the comparison.

    3. My kitties.

That’s it for now. Enjoy the rest of your week what’s left of it. Are you getting any colder weather where you are?

Fluff butts are awesome. My wife keeps saying she’s going to bring a new one home and my response is always the same: “If more than one cat is in the house, either you or the daughter are cleaning the box that captures the business end.” There have been no new cats so far 🙂

I am so digging those slippers. We have a strange little community here, Spanish Town, that has its own distinct Mardi gras style and customs (typically bawdy). The symbol is the pink flamingo. Each and every year, people make giant wooden flamingos and place them all over town to get “stolen” and put up in people’s own yards. It’s a strange thing.

    Those flamingo slippers are fantastic!

My kiddo just had her first ever school chorus performance….let me tell you, there are few things more adorable than a big group of 5 and 6 year olds singing tunes together. 😀
